NEW YORK – Manhattan senior Jose Perez has been named Met Player of the Week after being named MAAC Player of the Week yesterday for his performance in a 1-1 week for the Jaspers.
The forward averaged 30 points, four assists, two rebounds, and a steal per game while shooting 48-percent from the floor and 86-percent from the free-throw line.
At Iona on Friday night, Perez dropped a then season-high 27 points, added five assists, and went 10-10 from the charity stripe.
On Sunday at home against Canisius, the Bronx native had 33 points, three ‘boards, three assists, and two steals in Manhattan’s 80-75 win. The 33 points are a new season-best and the second-most by a MAAC player this season.
Perez and the Jaspers return to the court Tuesday night inside Draddy Gymnasium against Niagara at 7 p.m. on ESPN3.
