EDISON, N.J. – Jose Perez has been named MAAC men’s basketball Player of the Week.

The senior forward averaged 30 points, four assists, two rebounds, and a steal in a 1-1 week for Manhattan.

Against Iona on Friday, Perez had a game-high of 27 points, which was a then season-high. The senior was a perfect 10-10 from the free-throw line against the Gaels and added five assists.

On Sunday against Canisius, Perez had 33 points, three rebounds, three assists, and two steals in an 80-75 win. The 33 points are a new season-high and the second-most by a player in the MAAC this season.  

Perez and the Jaspers return to the court on Tuesday, Jan. 18, at home against Niagara at 7 p.m. on ESPN3.
